Celebrating female-founded brands you'll want to know.

Since November 2025, we've been spotlighting the next generation of female-founded consumer brands and celebrating female entrepreneurship, showing that building a business is a real, viable career path for women from all walks of life, regardless of background, age, culture, or circumstance.

We started Mindful Brand to support women in succeeding in business - not just through what we do, but also in how we shop. We believe in a future where more seven-figure consumer brands are built by women, and we're committed to helping make that vision a reality.

Deciding which businesses to support is a personal choice.

If, like us, you prefer to champion female-owned brands, we hope you enjoy this series.

Today, we’re featuring Spill Friends, co-founded by Eleni Sarri in 2026 in the UK.

About the Brand

Nashi is a 100% Korean pear juice served in a 250ml can, made to be the drink to have before the night rather than instead of it - an occasion the brand call the Social Warm Up.

It's made for people who refuse to choose between their social life and their plans the next morning: the ones doing the pub and the run, the dinner party and the early meeting.

The founders said they are biased, they believe they’re the tastiest nashi pear juice out there, in the largest serving size, and the only 100% Korean pear juice globally that comes in a recyclable can.

Meet the Founder

Taya and Lucy are the sisters behind Nashi, two of four girls from a big, loud household where most of the entertainment was each other.

Taya lives in London, runs the business full-time as a first-time founder. She previously worked in the police force with a background in behavioural science.

Lucy co-founded the brand alongside her own career as an AI software developer, and the two hold a monthly accountability meeting with real targets and real forfeits to keep the sibling dynamic productive rather than chaotic.

How She Started

Taya discovered Korean pear juice while living in Australia. It's been drunk in Korea for centuries, traditionally before a big night out, and she was hooked quickly enough that when she moved back to London she brought a stash home in her suitcase.

She gave some to Lucy to try before a night out ahead of a training run, and Lucy went from sceptic to convert fast.

One weekend in the pub, discussing the fact that the suitcase stash was running out, the sisters realised nothing like it existed in the UK.

The global products on offer still didn't quite do it for them, so they decided to make their own version rather than import someone else's, and bootstrapped Nashi from there.

What She Learned

Taya and Lucy have learned to start small and start messy, because action creates clarity. When Nashi launched, the sisters hand-delivered their first 50 pre-orders themselves across one weekend - 11 hours in the car, a parking ticket, and a congestion charge bill that made it definitively not the money-saver they'd planned. They learned more from doing it than they would have from another month of planning, and it made great content. They believe you don't need to know every step, just the next one in front of you.

They've also learned to be scrappy. At the beginning, they held off on doing a lot through fear of getting it wrong, or it not being perfect - but they know now that what matters is learning from the mistakes you make along the way.

Taya and Lucy are also glad they've bootstrapped the business, as it has forced them to be lean. Good habits, they say, that they'll carry into any future raise.

Where to shop

Nashi is available to buy at www.nashipearjuice.com, where new customers get 20% off their first order. It's also stocked with a growing list of independent retailers, including Superette, POPIN, and Trude's Grocery.
