Celebrating female-founded brands you'll want to know.

Since November 2025, we've been spotlighting the next generation of female-founded consumer brands and celebrating female entrepreneurship, showing that building a business is a real, viable career path for women from all walks of life, regardless of background, age, culture, or circumstance.

We started Mindful Brand to support women in succeeding in business - not just through what we do, but also in how we shop. We believe in a future where more seven-figure consumer brands are built by women, and we're committed to helping make that vision a reality.

Deciding which businesses to support is a personal choice.

If, like us, you prefer to champion female-owned brands, we hope you enjoy this series.

Today, we’re featuring GenGlo, founded by Jessica Goldsmith in 2026 in the UK.

About the Brand

GenGlo is a dermatologist approved skincare brand, made in the UK, built for tweens and teens aged 8 to 14. Every product is created from scratch for young, sensitive skin, free from retinols, AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide and other harsh actives that can damage a developing skin barrier.

The three step routine, Foam Wash, Spot Serum and Soft Cream, uses gentle, barrier first ingredients like niacinamide, panthenol and aloe vera.

GenGlo is for young people navigating their first breakouts and sensitivity, and the parents helping them build healthy skincare habits early.

Meet the Founder

Jessie is a first-time solo founder, based in Henley on Thames.

Before starting GenGlo, she spent 10 years in the marketing industry, working with brands including L'Oréal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline, NYX Cosmetics, Boohoo, Shein, Essie and Percy & Reed. That experience showed her that skincare is often developed for adults first, then marketed to teens, which didn't sit right with her.

GenGlo has been shaped by her industry background and its "Glo Squad" community of real tweens.

How She Started

Jessie's idea for GenGlo came while she was working as a trend spotter for L'Oréal Paris. She noticed that 40 million people on TikTok had searched "skin barrier repair" in 2024, which made her question why so much focus was on repairing damage that could have been prevented in the first place.

Growing up, Jessie had used skincare that was too harsh for her age, which damaged her own skin barrier and led to years of sensitivity and adult acne. The search data confirmed what she suspected: no one was building skincare to protect young skin from the start. So she decided to build it herself.

What She Learned

Jessie has learned that listening beats assuming. It would have been easy to build the brand purely on her industry experience, but the real insight came from talking to dermatologists, parents and actual tweens, the people living the problem.

As a female founder going it alone, Jessie believes in not being afraid to slow down and involve the community in shaping the product, not just the marketing. It makes the end result more honest, and it helps build trust faster, even without a co-founder to bounce ideas off day to day.
