About the Brand

Love Bites Only is a skin-first, design-led, all-natural insect repellent on a mission to challenge a category long dominated by utilitarian, synthetic products. Offering effective protection while nourishing and soothing the skin, it's a product people genuinely enjoy using and carrying.

It is for conscious consumers who care about ingredients, wellness and aesthetics - from parents seeking natural alternatives for their families, to travellers looking for easy-to-carry essentials, festival-goers and chic hosts who entertain outdoors.

Meet the Founder

Bree is a first-time solo founder originally from Maroubra, a beachside suburb of Sydney, Australia. Having spent 18 years living, working and travelling the world, she now calls London home.

Her professional background spans sales across real estate, recruitment and media. Earlier in her career, she worked as a nanny - a role she absolutely loved - often travelling with families and experiencing different cultures and ways of life along the way.

While she has explored plenty of ideas over the years, Love Bites Only is the first one fully brought to life.

How She Started

Bree has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to build something of her own. The idea for Love Bites Only was born from personal experience and a genuine gap in the market. While travelling through Southeast Asia in her twenties, she developed a rash after using a synthetic insect repellent. Not long afterwards, while working as a nanny, she found herself applying similar products to children and questioning whether there was a better alternative.

Having always believed in the power of nature and simple ingredients, creating a natural insect repellent felt like a natural progression. After years of making it for friends and constantly hearing, "You should sell this," - it was a no brainer.

The brand name itself originated at her 2021 wedding, where COVID restrictions meant hosting the reception in the garden. While preparing her natural repellent for guests, the name Love Bites Only felt perfectly fitting - and it stuck.

What She Learned

One of the biggest lessons Bree has learned is to trust her instincts, and do her due diligence. Whether it's suppliers, collaborators or partners, shared values and understanding of what she's creating matters just as much as skills and experience. Watching and listening to how people talk to others and how they move. She has also learned that she's not supposed to know everything. Asking questions, seeking advice and not being afraid to learn as she goes has been key.

Most importantly, don't wait for everything to be perfect. She has lost countless hours stressing over fonts, overthinking emails, or worrying about the right terminology in a meeting. Sometimes the best thing is to put yourself and your ideas out into the world, take the next step and trust that you'll learn and adapt along the way. It's scary, and that's okay as long as we move through the fear rather than get stuck in it.
